Privacy policy

What we collect
We deliberately collect as little personal data as possible. We do not require an account to read or comment.
- IP address (hashed). When you load a post or post a comment, your IP address is hashed with a daily-rotating salt. We store the hash, never the plain IP. The hash is used only to (a) count one view per visitor per day per post and (b) rate-limit comments and likes.
- Comments. If you submit a comment, we store its text, a randomly assigned anonymous handle, and the hashed IP described above.
- Contact form. If you submit the contact form, we store your name, email and message.
Cookies
This site does not set first-party tracking cookies. The only cookies that may appear are those set by third-party services we use:
- Google reCAPTCHA sets cookies to distinguish humans from bots on the comment and contact forms. See Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense may set cookies to serve advertising. See how Google uses cookies in advertising. You can opt out of personalised ads at Google Ads Settings.
Third-party services
- Google Gemini generates post content from public source material; it does not see any of your data.
- MongoDB Atlas stores posts, comments and contact messages.
- Railway (or equivalent) hosts the site.
Your rights
If you live in the EU/EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you may request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Email [email protected].
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We will post any material change to this policy on this page and update the date above.
